Sudan Family Aid (SFA) is a private foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and a 509(a)(2) organization. A 509(a)(2) organization will normally receive not more than one-third of its financial support from gross investment income and receives more than one-third of its financial support from contributions, membership fees, and gross receipts from activities related to exempt funcitons. All donations to SFA are tax-deductible.

SFA is qualified to receive grants from the US Department of Health and Human Services.
